Allison Downey
Hello, I am Allison Veronica and I love working alongside individuals on their healing journey. I am fascinated by the human body and have spent my years studying nutrition, wellness, ecology, herbalism and bodywork. The Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy introduced me to various different modalities and allowed me to learn more about what this work means to me. My work is simultaneously intuitive and informed by a thorough knowledge of the musculoskeletal system. I am passionate about Shiatsu, Thai Yoga Massage, Myofascial Release, and Neuromuscular Therapy. I believe that our bodies are beyond intelligent and know how to find their way back to alignment, so long as we listen deeply. Bodywork is a way for us to connect with the subtle messages our bodies hope to convey. If we allow ourselves to explore this we can optimize our wellbeing, take agency over our own healing, and feel more embodied in the way we move through life.

Fiona Malaman- Fascial Counterstrain
Hi, I’m Fiona Malamen and I’m a lifelong student of the body. We don’t live our lives in a straight line but in cycles, in ups and downs, moments of clarity and truth or confusion and distress. Since I graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Columbia Greene Community College in 2006, I have been holding safe space for healing and the recovery of homeostasis, the body’s “happy place.” This healing work is a collaborative partnership that prioritizes deep listening, something that is all too scarce in our broken and unequal healthcare system.
After graduating from SUNY New Paltz with a degree in Biology and Psychology, a session with mentor and local luminary Nina Silverman, P.T. introduced me to the osteopathic modality of Counterstrain. In this Indirect Approach, the therapist follows the signals of the body and releases occur in the direction of ease, rather than going against the tension and the body/mind defenses, to effectively relieve pain and inflammation.
Other influences in my life that helped me recognize the value of this approach include dance, West African dance, Eastern medicine philosophy and Buddhist psychology, a passion for Anatomy and my own self-compassionate healing process.
When I’m not being humbled by this work, gardening, foraging and hiking the Catskill peaks are a great source of pleasure and perspective.

Korneel Bouman- Licensed Massage Therapist
At once analytical, intuitive and compassionate, Korneel uses a mix of modalities to customize his clients’ treatments based on their physical and emotional needs. He has observed time and time again how people have become disconnected from their body, whether through trauma, overwork, stress, or lack of time, and helps his clients restore balance to their mind-body connection through therapeutic touch and the resulting down-regulation of their sympathetic nervous system.
Korneel is a careful listener, takes the time necessary to talk with his clients to get to the heart of what’s going on, and works with (and within) their comfort level. He cares deeply for his clients, which shines through in the calm, comforting, and restful container he creates while working with them, which in turn allows them to release and relax. Massage therapy is as much an art as a science, and often Korneel will be intuitively drawn to areas needing attention that neither he or his client knew were there.
Born and raised in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Korneel now calls the Catskills his home, drawn in by the mountains, skies, and nature. He gladly works with everybody that needs his services, and has special affinity for those that have previously experienced trauma, and the LGBTQIA+ population. He is licensed in New York State, and draws from the following modalities: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques, and Cross Fiber Friction.
